This shall be a work rant..
wait.. correct that and put in vent..
Note: I am a cheapskate.
Lesson 1 of life? READ the FINE PRINT
known widely (well.. widely in the neighbourhood)
for selling bananas at the price of 99c a kg
in the past..
the rise in banana prices were not good..
BUT
with the fall of the cost of bananas..
i DON'T understand WHY people
are STILL so whiny about buying bananas
this is how we sell:
- $4.99 a kg loosely
- $1.99 a kg in bags of 1-2 kg
there's those who are willing to pay $4.99 a kg for bananas
coz they only want one for lunch
makes sense yeah?
want a lil. jus buy the stuff that's there
ends up costing them max of $1 a banana..
depending how big a banana they want
BUT there's those particular individuals..
who walk past the signs..
think OMG $1.99 a kg
what a bargain!!
yeah true it is a bargain
(hmm there's some farmers whole sale place selling
em for like $1.49 a kg near mirrabooka square)
esp after the huge price peak when it was what?
12, 13 14+ dollars a kg..
then take a look at the bags..
then think "oh wait.. i dont want the WHOLE bag"
go in and ask..
"oh could you open a bag
so i can get 1 or 2 bananas outta the bag"
OR
"why cant you sell em in smaller bags..
no one wants so many"
there is a reason why we put them in bags..
we need a profit from it.. if you want it cheap
go by whole sale where you have to bulk buy a box
and have it the same price we get it
you see.. if EVERYONE only bought 1 banana
from the $1.99 a kg.. it'd take forever to sell
and we'd have overripe bananas on excess
THAT is why we sell em by the bag..
(but then again..
whoever IS reading this i doubt really cares)
next type a person?
after seeing the sign..
doesnt mind the sizing of the bags..
take the biggest possible bag they can find of bananas
take the bag of bananas
and bananas only.. so therefore arent buying ANYTHING
BUT BANANAS
i put em on scale
type it in.. and ask em for a certain amount
and with their selective hearing
decide not to hear what i say and hand me a $2 coin
meanwhilst i stare at em blankly and say..
no its actually [insert price]
hearing this.. they realise
and go off on a tangent..
on about HOW the sign is misleading..
NO the FREAKING sign is NOT misleading
YOU are the freaking person who chooses to SELECTIVELY read
it's not misleading because :
* ALL the words on the sign are written in the same font
therefore not fine print
(that is these signs are printed out ones)
* the sign specifically says "A KG"
not "A BAG" like the other signs
which show the pricing of bags of fruit n veges
and sooner or later..
they give up and reluctantly hand over the money
but there are those particulars
who just get miffed over it
and just decide to put it back
and not want any at all
hoping for prices to fall further
and you know..?
its not like you cant eat em all
the bags are a mix of ripe and unripe
so you can leave em at home to like ripen
whilst you eat the ripe ones first
and in the end its about $3 or 4 a bag anyways
i dont understand the workings of those people's minds
maybe bananas are just to some people luxuries
that with their budget they cant afford..
except for the fact that they live in my neighbourhood :S
stingy maybe...?
that's the only explaination i can think of..
its just sorta like weird..
they see the bag pricings and try to pick out
the biggest possible bag
but weight wise it just increases the price of the bag
and its not like there are such bargains out there..
shops sell things at prices so they make a slight profit
or the lowest possible loss..
they dont price things for your benefit..
they need the money to stay at their location
to keep running insteada closing down
as small as the point behind that vent was
the reason why its been getting to me??
its occured for the last TWO months
please people.. those bananas are there in bags
the sign says "A KG"
"KG" is a key word you look for when shopping for veges
you see em on a LOT of the signs..
it suggets by weight therefore variable cost
thank you for your co-operation
or.. for this.. more of you reading if you bothered to :)
WORK VENT 2
This isnt aimed at a particular number of occurences
this is aimed a SINGLE gentlement..
tho the likelihood of him reading i hope is 0%
ANYWAYS...
its a vent based on the idea.. that HELLO
unlike you.. (and probs unlike me till uni starts)
there are people who have basically have NO time in their lives
to get EVERYTHING done
there are staff shortages
and only a certain amount of jobs
can be done over certain amounts of time
THEREFORE.. those with HIGHER priority
are done FIRST and those that are of LOWER priority
is put LOWER..
and the SIGNIFICANCE of the prioties
is to be deemed by the staff who HAVE the list
and KNOW what needs to be done.
pricing is a MAJOR thing in shops yeah..?
having the prices up-to-date is an even higher priority..
and therefore the highest priority..
its to keep the scanny system uptodate on prices
which means the prices are first corrected there
followed by the prices on the shelving.
when new stock comes in..
the process invovles the CHECKING of all the stock
the opening of stock
the shelving of the stock
the checking of the RRP of stock
the CHANGING of the RRP of the stock if incorrect
on the scanning system
the DAILY chaning prices of fruit and vege
the written labels for the new stock pricing on the shelves
that in the end means that..
for new stock..
there may not always be a visible price
and the point of this vent is that the particular individual
EVERY time he visits decides to seek out an unlabelled shelf
and point it out..
demanding for a reason to why
there is no price for the particular item
(damn tall people.. their tallness
make them seem so much more imposing when they're angry>.<)
*sigh* picky and demanding people
guess that's all ive complained about
anyways
nite
(unless i bother with another)
*hugs*
