EXTREMELY Belated 2005 Recap..

Well since im not really doing much online
mite as well start something im gonna procrastinate over

(Note: this post was started Feb of this yr..
therefore details may be sketchy..
or i may have different views to what i may have had then..
and also parts of this may get choppy as well..
2005 was 2 yrs ago and im finishing it off
so that i can sorta get a double recap in
and obviously to recap 2005 in detail closer to the end..
would be too much effort for me alone..
so on the very last note..
if you wish to pry on what major-ish events occured for me
over the last 2 yrs.. ENJOY!!!)

Post-Typing Note:
As this has taken forever to complete..
it has been cut in half.. the second portion.
which was meant to be a 2006 recap? has been moved
so that this could be published and the 2006 will come later..

2005..
Yr 11..
The Year:

- of the Rooster -
Yes year of the rooster, well yes..
i really dunno what else to comment on that so yeah..

- I first got sunburnt -
SUNBURNT..
I got SUNBURNT, well sorta..
just mainly tanned skin that was red-ish..
then turned peel-y :S
after i spent a whole day at adventure world..
THE FIRST TIME I WENT TO ADVENTURE WORLD... ah well
and it was with my sister's friends.. how sad..
but at least i got to go!! :D

- of Grandpa over in Perth -
Yes he did, and i'm happy
and thankful he care enough to come visit us..
travel SO far.. and endured so much..
well not really.. 2 plane flights aint much
but for the elderly.. i think it was quite a feat..
GO GRANDPA!! :D

- of absolutely NO S+E -
YAY!!!
but which i was recommended for -.-"
and i might have had a better average if i had taken
and would understand more of geog if i did

- of Birthday on Interhouse Swimming Carnival -
somethin diff...
well it was good enough..
that is to my memory :S
but i do remember heaps hot n humid >.< - of Choral Camp -
well um.. hot..
lots of yr 8s n 9s screaming..
and a hilarious quiz night

- of SAVE STEVE CAMPAIGN -
When Eurest came in..
well what had happened from my views was..
we were sitting on a table/bench on great court..
then out of the canteen ran a purple-ish looking man..
then a while later..
the front of the canteen was surrounded by students
it seemed everyone...
just slowly gathered round and soon the whole court was outside the "cafe"
the "purple-ish" man turned out to be steve
whom had just found out he was made reduntant
and that the catering from then on
would be done by an international catering company...
this really struck a nerve with the students..
obviously the shock on some lunch time
when he [Steve] burst out loud..
in the protest against his redundance..
the "save steve" campaign was formed..
and well
it even got into the post..
yeah.. front page ^^ Go MLC :P
with the whole senior school..
esp the senior yrs questioning our principal..
we even had year group on principal talk..
but really the yr of spreading of those lovely lil flyers..
and the posting of one of em on the principal's car..
the final decision was to boycott Eurest when it came in..
but really i think till today..
didnt have much affect..
the canteen's busy all over again anyways..

- of Ki-ya (YAA) -
mm the lovely cases of ours :P
made of lovely satin material..
that we spent HOURS on..
both on discussions in meetings...
and the creation of em..
as well as so many evenings..
trying to desparately sell them..
to advertise em..
to get rid of em in exchange for money..
to break even and get ours and our shareholders money back
as well as gaining something for buying so many shares

- of Orchestra -
got to know how its like to play in one..
thinkin back..
it was an interesting experience..
despite the fact that there were early mornings
and some late arvos
and i had no concept of timing anyways..
its something to have taken in..
playin in a whole orchestra
tho i missed out on the actual farewell tour performance..

- of my Last ANZAC Parade -
sad thing i guess..
the anzac parade is something that ive always enjoyed..
well not really the whole being screamed at..
but i loved drill..
esp much when i actually get everything right..
but then again.. who doesnt??
I miss drill...

- I quit Cadets -
The last few years were filled with fieldcraft
and also flying camps..
something that was always enjoyable..
well other than the actual signing of forms
which always required a witness signiature

And to that.. ive got to add.
the leadership camps were something to have remembered
despite my complaints of never joining the army
after my first fieldcraft camp back in yr 9..
its something that i'll remember
from the 10km walk to the actual obsticle course
i hated the freaking wall tho.. couldnt climb that :(

Quitting Cadets really wasnt a big thing.
it was really coz it was due to excess consecutive AWOL.
but i was away
and couldnt be stuffed going back to actually report them

There were many times enjoyed thru cadets
from the whole training camps in the hols..
which meant i actually lost out on at least half a hol at a time

- of Instrumental Camp -
Something of which was sorta pointless
but important i was there for..
i was going to the music tour coz i played the harp..
there was a harp part in only one
of the songs the orchestra were gonna play
so i wasnt needed most of the time..
but it sorta was important i had more time
to work with the actual orchestra
im a play by ear person..
and well..
its sorta hard to practise with only me
coz there aint no orchestra as well
so its hard to work out where i actually fit in..
in the song and when to play and not to..
i had such large issues actually understanding the conductor
i just didnt get gallo's gestures unless he actually pointed at me..
-.-

- Buddha's B'day -
This year..
i remember having to teach the dance i did the year before
to more ppl so they'd have to dance too
cept in the end it rained..
the stage was too slippery
so no one had to do it..
yet we all got vouchers to go round for stuff :P

- of the family reunion!! -
It was Grandpa's B'day
Family really is an important thing..
even if you have to miss school
and really i dont think the school likes me that much either..
what with the 3 family occasions i had as my reason for
missing out on in the last 3 years..
but this time it reallly was special...
on ONE particular night..
we had the majority of the family
in ONE place at the same time..
Something really hard to actually attain
what with busy lifestyles of many these days
to me i guess a truly memorable occasion
that i'll never forget

- Interhouse Athletics -
The athletics that i think most yr 11s wagged..
i think i twas since it was joined 11/12 events
this year i guess it was really enthused 12s
since so many participated
but what can you say?
its they're last yr after all..

[Yr 11s on Tour]

[My Dear Cell Group]

- of the Music Tour -
A whole 3 weeks with Chewy, Gar, Sarah, Alison and Nellie
and well nearing 93 other students and a number of teachers
off to Europe!!
Switzerland
England
Wales
Austria
Italy
I love Europe i guess..
driving around and in a few hours you're somewhere new..
tho with the 17kg luggage limit to begin with
and then on return 16kg.. that was just a bit too stressful
what with me leaving perth with 17kg in the first place -.-

the limits to the baggage for us was also due
to the fact we were bringing our intsruments with us
which meant that all those kgs in total were distributed..
of which the harp.. in its casing was already 44KG
and it was only celtic too..

hmm imagine a concert one..
tho the beijing and singaporean orchestras had bought their concert harps..
yes we're only a small city school
competing against national youth orchestras
so i guess we did pretty well in the end..
what with both singapore and beijing getting equal first
and us getting "participation"
mite as well slap on a label of "unsatisfactory"

starting off staying at a youth hostel in switzerland..
where i realised on the bus trip to the hostel..
i wondered why the heck the petrol station would not accept
the currency that my dad had exchanged for me
that was intended to be used in switzerland
of which
later on i realised i had my money in SWEDISH Karonas..
he had miss heard and confused switzerland with sweden
oh well.
it was pretty money tho

- Pericision -
Icky job..
but well.. over and done with
dont wanna think about it
was under local anes..
but missed like a day off school coz of it i think it was

- ABODA Performance -
We got an OUTSANDING!!
that's like FIRST
but it was a shared one..
so EQUAL FIRST!!
WOOT!

- 3rd Aunty Visited -
Nothing speccy i guess..
over for like a week or two
and went over to eastern states

- Interschool Athletics -
Del a CHEERLEADER!?
yep it happened..
and.. well it happened twice..
this year as in 2005
and at the swimming 2006
amazing huh?
not really..
next topic

- Moon Cake Fest -
Performance nite
chinese school related? you bet..
this for 2005 they decided to
reenact the story of chang er ben yue
(my chinese/eng pin yin is crap i know)
lucky me..
only had to speak in eng :P
crap bit?
i had to translate it all out myself..
ok in the end i guess. :)
spoke in eng. end of story.

- Vocal Recital -
EVERGREEN!!
yep the song i sung..
not westlife.. but barbra streisand..
and well it was my last vocal recital ever..
im so gonna miss ms auty.
i took voice in yr 12 as well..
but not likely anymore..
she was really nice tho
bought me a pair of earrings as my farewell gift ^^

- Last ever Heather Lamont -
my first "last" of mlc i guess..
my first last heather lamont..

heather lamont is a festival
held by the school to celebrate the arts..
dedicated to a collegian called "Heather Lamont"
who excelled in the arts..
but died tradgically so parents donated money
and well festival named after her
tho don't quote me on that..
the summary's sorta vague...

on the day...
there was a choice of either
trying out for the badminton tournament
or heather lamont..
so i guess the fact i COULDN'T play badminton
meant i wasnt going to enter
and well it WAS the last heather lamont

was a section leader i was..
of arts and craft..
with liz and scar
and i swear
on the night before, the day and the next few weeks
after heather lamont i NEVER wanted to see a card again
i guess im over it now..
but what had happened was since yr 11s were all
revved up to winning their last heather lamont
they said to enter in as many entries as possible
and to try for the less common ones..
such as the arts n crafts devision where few people entered
and one of the easier competitions was "card making"
so nearly EVERYONE in Troy just decided to "make a card"
even i spare tute time..
i swear.. there were the most random cards ever entered.
just for the sake of a single point..
I'M in Troy and i was overwhelmed by the lack of effort
seemed a bit on the despo side for points...
and well judging em??
sorta seemed pretty easy..
what with MANY of them below a viable quality..

- of the rivercruise!! -
Mmm.. not really any piccies from then..
tho an interesting night all the same..
tho i was pretty amazed they played
"rock a by a bear" by the wiggles
due to a reqest O.O
might have been some group thing :S

- of Exams -
First set of actual exams really
and i guess it was something new-ish
althought there were exams in yr 10
it just wasnt the same
like in yr 10 it was clumped up together
cept with two weeks of spread out exams

- Speech Night -
It was the first time that our speech nite
was at the convention centre..
usually held at the concert hall
turned out our booking for it got overrided
so therefore we were kicked out
and left to fend for ourselves
until they found that the convention centre was available
to only suck up all the money needed for the parking of all the parents
anyways..
mass choir again this year
tho lee decided to give it a change
as he's done with quite a number of school things
so instead of the usual latin dark theme songs
it was "Halleluia" and well..
guess what the main word of the song was?
HALLE-F-in-LUIA
basically repeat the word 50 times in different pitches
and there you go you have the song
no not that easy.. and yeah its traditional and all
but BORING
BORING BORING BORING

Taiwan Tour

["Forever A Class"]

- of the Taiwan Tour!! -
Thinking about taiwan..
and to the dear poor souls
who've had to hear me rant about it
ON and ON and ON and ON and ON.
(well you get the point.)
i apologise
but to me i guess it was such a major thing to me
like the experience of 6 weeks away from home
guess you could say it was a "life changing experiences"
and you'd prob hear my endless rants and referrals to it
from the crappiest of the very low emotional
hate directed at some individuals
and some pretty happy times
despite the fact that there were the lows
it really meant something to me
and also living with such great people for 6 weeks
and im amazed there are the few i've still be able to
keep in contact with for the year already
so that's pretty much a BIG thing for me ^^
a major event in my life :)
No words can really express how important you guys are to me
seriously they are really valuable friendships to me
and hearing from anyone one of you just makes me so estatic!
Hopefully can see you guys again soon :)

From the Words of A "Ban" teacher:
Opportunities are for those prepared to take em

Back to event tracking side...
pre plane flight..
we were supposedly meant to meet up with a Samantha
who was meant to accompany us on the flight
somewhere along the way somethign came up as her being 18+
which meant that she was sorta in charge of us
meeting up later on.. found out i was the oldest..
great -.-
i love responsibility :P
with the parents going "look after my kid" -.-
im round their age..
as if i can actually restrict what they do
i aint THAT buff..
sorry cant really manage to restrain a guy

i remember on the plane flight
spending my time insteada actually watching movies..
i spent my time playing either cards..
from stacking them to a varation of 52 pick up :P
to that of learning to play the computerised version of mahjong
which at that time i just clicked randomly to see what happened
then arriving where we spent about half an hour standing around
sorta feeling frantic and
wondering where the people who were meant to pick us up were
because they were no where in sight..
but thank god we managed to meet up ron's cousins
who called em up to find out that they were late coz of some reason :S

with the belief that we were gonna be living in whoop whoop
coz they moved to a different venue due to the fact that the old one
people kept sneaking out at night to go shopping and what not..
(well in the hindsight it sorta was pointless.
didnt stop people from anything)
so we thought we were gonna be sent off somewhere in the country
what with looking out the windows we were pretty surprised..
that hey apparently we were nearing the uni
and WOW there were still buildings
so we werent in whoop whoop in the end
finding out we were ending up in separate dorms
us girls got dropped off first
we wandered up to our room
where finding out even our BEDS were allocated O.o
tho at least we were in the same room
4 bunks per room
with 3 of us girls from the same place
looked like we were gonna have to meet someone new
and get to know how they were

with nothing to do and finding out there was an 18+ girl
who had been there a week earlier than us
we decided to spend some time with her
she showed us around from around the "boarding house"
more of boarding building.. but you know lotsa people
and then sitting there in the food court for dinner..
actually visually fading in and out of what was happening around me
that was pretty scary but moments at that time was pretty surreal
actually time away from sister and the rest of the family.

with the belief that the routine given to us would be really strict
i was amazed that after a few days and weeks
as routine fell in..
and things being cancelled continously
i found that no... this was no boot camp
but a time just enjoy what was happening
i guess with my experiences of cadet promotion camps
i probably likened what my expectations to my past experiences

going back to the dorm we met later that evening
or last room mate
dear K, who i seriously cant believe ive shared so much with
gods girl you are seriously a crazy one..

on the first few days going
i remember particularly one morning
walking into vary cafe as a group..
us room mates
i was pretty surprised to see that there was this guy
strangely running around frantic
asking everyone if they knew how to read the phonetics
whether they used the roman/english letter type
or the taiwanese "b p m f" stuff for the test

what apparently was the supposed 3 hour testing
which had everyone on their nerves
turned out to be a one on one chat with the teachers
to show your level of chinese knowledge
so that it was possible to split the classes

with the large range in chinese ability
they were forced to divide the tour to 3 groups
insteada the intended 2 groups

antoher memorable memory
would be the downfall of the singing teacher
not that i had anything particularly against her
she was trying to teach us to sing jay chou..
alright i guess.
cept the trouble?
her voice was damn annoying
i swear i have never disliked a voice so much
tho i guess i sympathise..
what with 40 people in a class
and of which majority of the people spent their time
either playing cards or talking
all the way for a 3 hour class
but cmon.. 3 hours worth of singing?
as if someone would bother paying attention..
unless you're like me and like singing..
but even i tuned out a bit..
sad to say.. but 3 hours
annoying voice and on top of that
no breaks is sorta a bit much to expect
so in the end she got so hurt
she just quit
to the strange joy of the class :P

participating in the tour
we also had a series of other classes
from that of :
- paper folding/cutting
- taiwanese
(that teacher was SO nice!!)
- hakka
- calligraphy
- kung-fu
- aerobics/yoga
- movie night
(lasted about 1 night coz
everyone fell asleep during the movie)
- field trip outta school grounds
and possibly some others but i cant remember anymore

memory-wise..
i just thought of the ALLEGED B-class teacher rivalry
where apparently the teacher of B-Class was so proud of her class
that the students of A-class swore that she was taking measures
to put our class down..
see, the tour was based on a points system
where later on.. awards were given
and also after a certain number of minus points
you'd appparently not graduate
and the conspiracy going around
was that she was learning
the names to the members of our class
so that she could put demerit points on us

tho the second rumour that went around
was that she wanted to change the ending to our play
that we had made for the end of tour concert
you see their class had theirs together
way before our class
and it was some time after the dress rehersal
on the day of the concert
that apparently she suggested that the ending to our play
was too sad and needed to be changed
and well changing a play script and rehersing it
one hour before the actual performance
which was all in chinese in the first place
sorta seemed impossible
ah well... rumors..

there were many other occurences
but i dont actually wanna voice any of those
related to the darker tone of the tour

some of the more memorable places for shopping tho:P
i swear the uni bookshop had EVERYTHING
funny.. i kept putting it back
and saying i'd shop for supplies before i left
didnt end up happening
but i swear it was stationary heaven
as quite a lotta places are in asian countries

a surprising thing as well
was that i managed to keep in contact with faye
faye was one of the uni students who helped us along
and im surprised we talk actually once in a while
so yeah im happy about that

atm i swear i miss the "family mart"
there still aint an equiv ive found in perth yet
tho if there were..
there's none near my place.. :(
not as convenient as
just racing someone *cough*K*cough* down stairs
lol a whole 8 levels worth of stairs
to get at the last onigiri in the fridge
or the last pocky
or even just to raid the new stock worth of onigiri
i swear.. the poor family mart dude went through a lot
whilst we were there..

speaking of the family mart
great memories are sorta implanted there
from the dares which related to him
just coz he was on the grave yard shift
to the LOVELY msn magnets you could collect!!
omg i swear.. kept going down hoping to spend enough
so i could do a lucky dip for those msn emoticon magnets
*drools* damnit i miss my daily/nightly onigiri and pocky fix

mm and atm im all thought out.. memory wise.
there were so many elements to making it the way it was
tho going on it again would possibly be a whole
nother different experience what with different people
and well would be harder to compare to this one
as ive seen the possibilities in this one
the expectations would be higher
but you guys are the best (yes you too scar) !! :)
probs coz im starting to get distracted by msn..
the stream before was longer coz no one was online
shall leave it at that..

*first time i got tipsy :P
of which i shall not divulge any details at all right here..

Seriously,
2005 was an amazing year of new travels
and oppotunities TAKEN actually taken
and well.. sorta slightly followed through
but you know..
its amazing
*screams*

thanx for the FANTABULOUS year..
that was 2 years ago..
well luv y'all always
*hugs*
