I Don't Care....

You know?
at the moment? the things i've been thinking about?
i just wonder if i really do care with what's going on?
people say this or that
and then i end up thinking about em later on
i wonder if yeah it actually got to me?
or just the fact that well there's nothing better to do
but sit/stand there and think
about the day/week's worth of conversations and happenings
yep. sometimes i dont have enough conversations to surfice
so end up thinking about the week

in doing that i sorta sort through the rest of my mind
and yet sometimes it just feels as if im going over the same thing
all over again
thinking about well maybe has this come up before?
or just a passing comment someone else had made
but at the same time that the similar comment come up
could it be true?

should i publish this anyways?
dunno..
thinking thinking
more of mind just blanked over msn and forgot bout this huh?

but thinking about whether or not i care bout things
i think back to the days
when i just say i dont care bout things
just the things that go around
would i just be running away from something?
or just the fact that well i basically DIDN'T care
and that was the end of the story
i guess with the changes taht go around for everyone
its just that your thoughts just change
what you didn't care for before
may become something so much more later on

or...
it was just a case of laziness
that i couldnt be bothered
with caring enough to do anything about some things
lol talk about me being vague??

bleh
topic atm = pointless
i lost my point
and i dont have a view anymores at the current moment
so end it here
nite nite

Worlds of Existence

Note: this post is a result of a number
of scattered different writing times
therefore the reference of "world of existence"
or sphere or whatever it is
manages to vary on what it represents
or means and such
so if you dont understand its ok..
coz i havent read this thing from top to bottom before
so i dont even know if it makes sense :)
and also that its something i've thought quite alot bout lately
so really makes it into a multilevel thing possibly?
ah well read however you like if you dare to read
or waste your time :)

Hmm..
and yet again i think i've gained
ANOTHER few multitudes
of draft posts
no i dont write em for just noting.
just that what happens is i never fully get over
finishing what i wanted to say in the first place
it just gets stuck under "drafts"
so yep

and well what with work
you suddenly realise.. why the heck
does there seem to be so much time during work?
and none at home?
ah well i did wanna get outta the house
im not getting paid and that really leads to
me just standing around and doing minimal crap
from reading newspapers to mags
to spending my time cutting up cigarette cartons
so that we recycle the cardboard for pricing of fruit n veges.

you know
thinking over and over
there's this same topic i keep wanting to talk bout
but it spans over so many things
but i think i've finally sorta found a title
to encompass it all..
so that's pretty good
just gotta get it down in words and finished too..

its just that there was once a quote i got
before year 8 from the lady at ALW

Whether you think you can,
whether you think you can't,
You're RIGHT!

the idea of believing in yourself
that if you think that its possible for yourself
anything is within reach
but live the life of a pessimist
nothing may happen
even if its in your wildest dreams
its not attainable

but in the idea of belief and your own thoughts
it turned my thoughts to different people
the fact that whether you believe you ARE right
you think you're right
what you WANT to believe is presented before you
you're most likely to believe it
that you believe it because that's what you want to believe

the supporting evidence whatever it maybe
whether or not is true or not
you'll take it as solid evidence
because it gives you a reason to believe
and what person likes to be wrong?
that what they want to think
could be possibly outside of their own ideals
of their "sphere of existence"

guess that's how misunderstandings
and well arguments arise really
the fact that both people's
lil sphere's of belief clash
the supposed supremecy over the other
that each believe they in their own right
are well..
yeah can say im also a victim of that too :P

what exists around you
you believe right?
you're more aware of what happens to you
you care bout what happens to you
you're blinded by what you know
coz you believe that the world that revolves around you
is the only one that exists?
after all that's what's the most important
in everyone's own interest
your own survival, or the survival of your own
you care for what's around you
its what's the main thing that happens in your life
your world, your small scale existence..
the greatest things that change even if to others
that its on such a small scale
the change in itself can rock your world

and when you just feel as if you wanna let it out
or just wanna share your thoughts
but no matter how you express it
the exact same occrences within one world
just wont equate to the same thing in the next
they say that the whole transcention of expression
through music and such but the degree of
the emotions actually felt through
the actual experience
its seomthing taht everyone knows
from the single slight of
"my parents dont understand what its like"
to the emo ideal of
"you dont know what its like to be me"
you can try to explain
you can bitch
you can write it down
do wahtever you like
but its not the same
what ever happened in the last second of your world
is irretrievable
what you choose to do with the time lost is up to you

but no matter what you do to try to understand
from the hearing point of view
you'll never actually get the exact same sensation
you can sympathise
and have had a similar occurence
but for every single person it'll be different
the different series of events in your lil lifeline
means that you'd be more prepared for somethings
than other things
what you've been exposed to in your own world
shapes your thoughts on things
and from a slight bump of worlds
i just spend my time wondering how the heck
that some people mindlessly doing what they do
and spend my time wondering..
where the hell has the concern for others gone?
or more of the world that we live in
and the fact we face a water shortage
(the lady had it on highest the tap would go
and just stood there whilst the water ran down the sink
whilst she spent her time ripping up bits of paper towel
the reason to later be that she wanted to dry her hands
with ripped up bits of paper towel and to turn it off
using those bits of paper towel..
but she coulda ripped it up and put it on the dry bits of the sink
BEFORE HAND of which yes there WERE dry bits of sink)

funny this
my very very very main point of this
was the very point that wasnt included so far
i guess for me
what it was was a recount of an occurence
which for me was something that i found pretty much
an ignorant comment on the commentator
but still soemthign that i found pretty damn offending
i guess when you dont realise what you're saying
and dont take into the fact that there are situations
surrounding everyone
the baggage of their lil bubble world which they carry
everywhere they go with them
the mental baggage that affects what they do and think
and when the extra stress of the passing of a loved one
that's something that well
its soemthing that you cant really in a passing comment
joke about the reactions of someone to the loss
its something you cant compare
what with different relations between different people
i understood the reasoning behind the comment
for the usual sakes of comfort
in the dealing of grief
but when you first meet someone
should that really be the thing really said from the start?
and something to joke about?
the reactions of any single person to pain??
so really these days
i wonder where the compassion has gone in some

nite..

Mirrors, Reflections, Truthes, Opinions and Aussie Day

Post-post WARNING: VVVVVVV long post
(worst so far)
due to the fact that there's like 2 articles
from the paper that've been included..

For the last few days
i guess the title sorta sums up
what i've been thinking of the last few-ish days
meanwhilst lina's been wondering
why i wont rite in full paras
the multitude of dots tho
if the text started moving
it mite slighly seem like some hypnotic illusion

Illusions..
Don't you love the those mirrors in those amusement parks?
like i the house of mirrors?
yep i know that you know what im talking about
tho cant really say that their illusions..
more of disortions?
but anyways
when you look into a mirror it just reminds me
makes me think of reflections
(mind you this is coming from someone who
rarely looks into mirrors in the standard day
they're sorta more like objects in the house
you walk past and ignore
hmmm.. could be why i look at my reflection
in windows on the street? maybe? :S)
hmm funny that.. ive yet one to publish..

but anyways..
with the curved mirrors everyone knows that you see a distortion
yet when you look into a plain mirror you just think that what
you see is what is really there..
well ok.. it is what with it turing out to be
the upright, unskewered and same size
but its back to front
and well if you angle a mirror over
you see different things instead of your reflection
sorta like those seeing things in those submarines?
im getting more and more lost for words by the day
due to lack of school..
what ever little vocab i had to start with
has totally diminished..

anyways
back to the mirrors..
so what you see reflected.
sorta like when you look back on yourself
you can see different things
when you look and think back and
when the mirrors tilted all you could possibly see
is some totally pessimistic view of what your life has been
or could just be the idealistic view of what you think others see
something that's totally unrealistic
or
you could just be the realistic one
self analysing and
know what you're like and understand yourself pretty well
and the reflection you see is pretty much the same
and yet.. despite that
its horizontally inverted (yay physics! not)
so there are those discrepancies that are there
but its pretty much down pat

when you "reflect" what you see..
everyone has their past
or their features that they dislike
it makes you sqirm or just feel a plain dislike
but its part of what's formed who you are
or more of what you see as yourself
and yet..
over time what you see changes
everyone grows up..
well not exactly..
more of everyone changes all the time
a slight accident and you're reflection
could be completely different
or something arranged to be done
(hehe.. wisdom teethe removal
AND eye thingy in the same hols?!)
events occur and what you see for that moment may change
and visiting the amusement parks?
its a sudden distortion
and you're reflection's entirely twisted and bent
so as you "age" your "reflection" changes
how you see yourself and how you think others see you
but what you see reflecting back one moment that was once there
might not be some time later
just like memories that fade
they either stay or they change to something else

i've said before that there's nothing time can't heal
just that the degree of healing varies
whether physical or the emotional or other..
but sometimes wounds get reopened
and relapses do occur.
and on that i think im totally offtrack
from my intentional first point which relates to reflections

-

in the last few days, what with work and all..
i found the opinions section and the letters to the editor
is pretty interesting..
mind you once again.. we dont usually get newspaper at home
other than the community one of which most of the time
i dont bother opening them anyways
and for why they're interesing?

and well on Aust day..
typing these articles out
sitting here i can stilll hear the shouts of
"Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!"
eminating through my window from the neighbours house
i guess the two articles below from the opinion section
of the West on Tuesday sorta well its slightly relavent..

- Flags are meant to be flown, not worn -
Paul Murray

Flags, like all powerful symbols, can be troublesome. Just look at the swastika. More than 60 years after Hitler there are regular moves within the European Union to ban it. And the last time that push raisted its head, it was met with calls to ban the hammer and sickle as well.

For some reason the Rising Sun flag with the radiating red arms makes me feel uncomfortable. The emblematic nature of a flag can make it a rallying call for a range of passionate issues not overtly described within its borders.

One of the continuing controversies between Greece and the Republic of Macedonia is over the symbol called the Star of Vergina, rediscovered by archeologists in 1977. Both countries claim it as their link to Alexander the Great and his father, King Phillip. So that dispute dates back to 336BC at least.

Our flag is much newer, but it can be just as potent. Many of those who provoked the first incidents in the Cronulla race riots on December 11,2005, were draped in the national flag. They proved the aphorism that patriotism - misplaced - is the last refuge of the scoundrel.

Prime Minister John Howard does not oppose the burning of the national flag as legitimate form of protest, but he was put on the spot about using it as provocative symbol in an exchange with Ellen Fanning on Channel 9's A Current Affair the day after the riots.

Fanning: "Part of what was chilling yesterday was seeing a lot of people in between the violence doing things that you'd see at the cricket, singing 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi', wrapping themselves in the Australian Flag. What do you say to people who use the Australian Flag in that way?"

Mr Howard: "Look, I would never condemn people for being proud of the Australian flag. I don't care - I would never condemn people for being proud."

Fanning: "What if they've got a beer in one hand and a baseball bat in the other?"

Mr Howard: "Now hang on. What I condemn is loutish behaviour, criminal behaviour, and what should happen, is, the people who committed crimes yesterday should be caught, if possible, and punished."

Fears of a similar outbreak have led the organisers of a Big Day Out concert in Sydney this week to make it known that the flag is unwelcome after a series of racist incidents last year.

"The Australian flag was being used as gang colours," event organiser Ken West said, "It was racism disguised as patriotism and I'm not going to tolerate it." Fresh in his mind also was the clash between young Australians of Serbian and Croatian extraction - some draped in those national flags - clashing at the Australian Open tennis last week.

The bottom line is that flags were not meant to be worn. When a flag is removed froma proper place of respect it becomes open to misuse. It wasn't Pauline Hanson's maiden speech that alerted me to the pernicious nature of her politics. It was when I first saw her wrapped in the flag.

Athletes now regularly drape a flag over themselves for a victory lap. All of this leads to the situation where the flag's power is harnessed for an individual's own purposes.

If we had proper civics education in our schools we might have a chance of teaching people about the correct use of our national symbols. We legislatively protect the name ANZAC from misuse, but there is no such protection for the flag.

Asking that the flag used as it was intended is not un-Australian, but quite the opposite. The Big Day Out concert is not an Australia Day concert. It is not even being held on Australia Day. That said, any suggestion of banning our flag from the public place is provocative and unworkable.

However, politicians and the RSL would do well to start talking about true respect for the flag instead of joining the jingoistic chorus.

- Big Day Out in a True Blue Flap -
Gerard Henderson
Director of The Sydney Institute.

Talk about backing a loser.
The organisers of the Big Day Out concert in Sydney on Thursday were on a hiding to nothing when they indicated that the Australian flag would not be welcome at the Sydney gig but would be welcome when the event travels to other cities (including Perth on February 4).

The reaction was so predictable that it should have been predicted by the Big Day Out team.

John Howard condemned the decision on Sunday and yesterday Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd weighed into the debate by describing it as "political correctness gone mad".

NSW Premier Morris Iemma and Opposition Leader Peter Debnam joined in the chorus.

In recent years there seems to have been a surge of patriotism in Australia, especially among the young. This whould be distinguished from nationalism, which usually has an ideological connotation.

Patriotism essentially involved citizents of a nation feeling good about their society. As such, patriotism is almost always a healthy phenomenon. In Australia it has been associated with both the waving and the wearing of the Australian flag.

It's true that, on occasions, the flag has been associated with acts of intolerance. But these are exceptions since Australia is a remarkably tolerant and accepting society.

The statistics tell the story. In Australia ethnically motivated crime is relatively low and inter-marriage between virtually all groups in our multicultural society is relatively high.

Australia Day has become an occasion when citizens celebrate the nation's success. No doubt, the feel-good factor has been propelled in recent years by the fact that Australia has experienced some 15 years of economic growth and the unemployment rate has more than halved in this process.

In other words, there are plenty of reasons to feel good.

In spite of this, a sense of alienation still prevails in the land. This phenomenon is rarely found among the less well-off groups in the community but abounds within the sections of the financially comfortable intelligentsia - humanities department academics, writers, artists, journalists and so on.

At the moment there is a tendency among sections of the intelligentsia to declare that Australia is intolerant, even racist, society and that Australians are inherently unhappy despite their relative economic wellbeing.

What's more, the suggestion is that Australians are not smart enough to know just how suppressed and unhappy they really are.

If anyone is in any doubt about just how foolish we all are, turn to the month of February in Michael Leunig's 2007 Calendar. There the cartoonist depicts a man on a soapbox smugly proclaiming that "you only need to fool a majority of people for one day every few years - and you've got a democracy!"

The statement is appreciated by the audience, who welcome the pronouncement with the fascist salute. Get it? We're all too foolish to know that we have been manipulated into believing we live in a democracy when, in fact, we reside in some kind of dictatorship.

There are many variations on this theme. Writing in The Age on September 9 last year, playwright Stephen Sewell proclaimed that "it is difficult, contemplating contemporary events, not to despair of the human adventure" and alleged that we have all failed in "the civilising of our own barbarous spirit". Sewell claims that "the real source of hope in any society is the artist" and regrets that artists like him are "being replaced by hacks, drones, spin doctors and media manipulators as the generators and regurgitators of an official culture".

Shame, eh? Even so, the artist still makes a living in the taxpayer-subsidised theatre industry. So life can't be so bad, surely?

A year ago, Wollongong University humanities academic Peter Kell claimed that "an ugly, racist version of Australian nationalism is alive and well" in Sydney and referred to contemporary Australia's "bigoted, intolerant and selfish attitudes" in a nation that has "broken apart". He implied some of these problems might be abated if the Commonwealth Government spent more money on universities and, of course, humanities departments.

In his 2006 Stephen Murray-Smith Lecture, author and journalist Martin Flanagan referred to Australia as a country "afflicted with blindness that needs repair", detected "weird things in our national psyche" and referred to "the awful despair that now lies at the heart of our nation".

In The Guardian last Friday, the leftist journalist John Pilger wrote about the "regression" of Australia's "social democracy into a state of fabricated fear and xenophobia" which should be "an object lesson for all societies claiming to be free".

Novelist Frank Moorhouse presents a much more measured critique of Australia in his essay in the September 2006 issue of teh Griffith Review.

He criticises his colleagues who present "an unwillingness to believe that Australia is seriously threatened by terrorism" and he describes the use of the term fascism as "one of the most carelessly used political expressions in Australia".

Even so, Moorhouse believes that the Commonwealth and State anti-terror laws mean that "the Government will probably have to send some of us to jail" just because he and his fellow artists "speak their minds". An unlikely prediction.

THe fact is, as Sewell knows, the Government is not that interested in what artists say. Rather, it is focused on what real terrorists might do.

Australia Day, once again, is likely to prove the doomsaying members of the intelligentsia wrong. Increasingly January 26 is coming to depict the success of multicultural Australia.

The problem is that some alienated intellectuals continually project their personal unhappiness with Australian society on the overwhelming majority of the citizens who rejoice in their citizenship.

It is likely that Australians will continue to put out more flags irrespective of the Big Day Out.

Interesting huh?
the flag and apparent patriotism..
i guess the main reasons for the compulsion
to put them on the blog
is the fact that it feels relavent to thoughts ive had before
the fact that there's the apparent multiculturalism
and at the same time sometiems slights of the whole racism thing
like you cant reject the whole idea that aust is multicultural
but at the same time you cant say that everyone is entirely accepting
the majority is that everyone is friendly
but there will always be times taht for some reason or the other
and well the other person on the receiving end can take it as they like

on the flag
the thing is that i sort of do agree.
with the title of the first article
"flags should be flown not worn"
not that im against the flag being printed on shirts
but more of the whole flags being tied around shoulders
im not totally AGAINST it..
its tolerable but something that shouldnt really be done
is how i see it i guess

i dunno i just see it as something thats
pretty much disrespectful..
the fact that under that flag many people had died
to serve the country and yet..
the flag is wrapped around the people
and other times
being turned to items of clothing
such as flags sewn together to make tops/skirts/sarongs
and even the aust flag print as a bikini
like a flag printed on a t-shirt is ok
and yeah people are proud bout being aust
that's understandable
i'm proud too
just that i wouldnt actually wear it in such a way

and well the fact that it occurs
i could just push the blame
as one does :P
and just say that people cant see the significance in it
or they do and well just dont feel
the need to respect it the same way in which i do
everyone to their own
but you can also blame on the lack of knowledge
not knowing due to not being taught
it doesnt just represent a country that you live in
it represents all those who've died in war
and the history of the place
values n beliefs.. and im rambling on that..

i guess in a way i can say that i've been lucky
to have actually gotten the chance
to learn what i've learnt
getting a pretty good education to from what i hear
of other students and their memories of primary school
or just that those individuals forgot how primary school was

but
i remember in preprimary..
one of the earliest things i learnt
was the words to the australian anthem
we had a class where every afternoon we learnt one line
repeating it over and over and over and over
and the lines we'd learnt previously
until we'd memorised every line up until where we'd learnt
and then going home everyday
proudly reciting to mum what i'd learnt that day
the new line and what each word had meant
the entire meaning of the anthem
well the first of the five verses that is
and yet
you hear on the radio these days
people wondering what the word "girt" means
or that they dont know the full words
to the first verse of the aust anthem
and yet there's those who run around with the pride
and yet lack of knowledge
im surprised
and its not like the resources arent out there
the fact that ive even seen a BOOK
with pix and all showing the aust anthem
and explainign the meanings of the lines
in the CHILDRENS library
so why dont people know?
they just werent taught in primary school like i did??
so i guess im lucky i know the first two verses now dont i?
and yet..
i wonder how i could be labelled
as someone who doesnt love my home country?
ah well..
just cos i say its boring dont mean i dont love it :D
just isnt that much stuff around to do..

and the flag?
i remember as a primary school student
in year three the first day of school
was that instead of being
introduced to all the ways of the year
we were each handed out a copy of the Australian Flag
and were told to colour it in..
nope no hard work..
just colouring in a flag
i looked at it and recognised it
but i didnt understand they were there fore
and yep
in that afternoon we had the explaination
of what the union jack, the southern cross
and federation star were and meant
and yet im surprised that recently
i was asked by someone a few years younger than me
that means highschool student yeah?
bout how the 5 starts relates to the states and terrortories
AGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
they got the southern cross mixed up with the fed star !!
-.-
*sigh*
how can you not know how the flag works??

anyways...
despite my amazement
i was even more amazed to hear that a friend
was learning which oceans were where again
good thing she was refreshing her memory
but then i realised when i asked her
that she'd never actually learning
DESPITE the fact that
i had to memorise them in primary school
AND you needed to know where they were for
YEAR EIGHT geog
i had to know htem in year FIVE
a GRADUATE from HIGHSCHOOL
didnt know what the oceans were or where they were.
what the HELL is wrong with people's learning?
she claimed to have spent year SEVEN playing with playdough
for science
*sigh*
i had crappy science teacher in year seven
never actually get to do the experiments
but we still had to do the write ups
so what the heck??
is there such a god damned difference
in the primary school standards???

oh and before you say anything
to even out the odds of the possible
private vs. public education clash
its clarified i graduated a public primary school
so why?? why such wide standard differences?
i dont understand that
and it primary school..
you raise the flag
have the roster duty for bell ringing
you have the class camps
you should also have the general basic knowledge
of your country's own anthem and flag
that is if you're proud to be a citizen
not spending the time sewing flags together
to make garments
just for a single event where there's tendency
for people to binge drink.
celebrate yes.. but reasonably please??

of which today (Sat 27th)
found an amusing cartoon in the paper..
couldnt resist ^^

since lina's complaining on the size of my post
and the fact that im typing this is restricting her convo
and use of the keyboard i shall stop

ok
nite nite

Religious Missonaries..

(Edit: this is an old post from 21st July 2006
wanted to write something..
but didnt have a topic atm..
so picked up the end of this lovely rant and rave
so some of the detail may be out)

you know i'd just love to talk bout my oh so brilliant life
*cough cough*
and bore everyone out there..
so yep
found an alternative to bore you with..
:D
my vent on ...
*drum rolls*

Religious Missionaries

well...
i guess you coulda jsut read from the title..
but anyways..

it was round lunch-time
i was just strolling along..
down my street..
with earfones on ears...
reading the newspaper.. (the local one)
happily making my way to the resto..
and then along came these two guys in suits..
didnt notice em..
till they went and stopped me..
i was like ?.?
one of the guys just starts talkin..
Note: italics = think speak

guy in suit: hi.. im a missionary

me:uhhuh.. and..? hi :D

guy in suit: We'd like it if you'd join us some time

me:um what the? . . .

guy in suit: Here's our card *hands me card and smiles*

me: *looks at card* OH.. ok.. *walks off quickly*

it was the dear blessed mormons..
:S
how did they know i wasnt christian?
i was reading the paper with albie's headphones on
listening to music
does that make me a sinner? :P
that needs to be saved?
i look at the card.
it had a picture of a lovely builidng
with purple background lights
sorta looks like a castle looking thing
it sorta looked like half way between
some glamourised hotel to a castle
with purple lights in the background

hmmm..
do mormons have like special attire and dress regulations?
coz other than that..
how can you pick out a non-mormon...
what if i was christian?
why would i need saving from the same god that they're preaching?
i could've been a non-obvious christian
who isnt wearing a cross..
why would i wanna join?

hmmm.. im slightly on the bias...
or more than slightly

superior-complex?
why is it that some people think they oh so better?
wait.. just do that and it ups your own self esteem..
can be good i guess then.. means less suicides?
probs not..

what if the lives we're living arent the right answer
and yet we're going out there distributing our way of life
when its wrong in the first place

ok im leaving it here
coz i dunno what im saying anymore
and the train of thought keeps getting derailed..
so the actual effort of putting it back on track
repeatedly has just gone.. kaput..
anyways
nite nite
*hugs*

Blood Thirst...

No.. not really
just a sudden rethought bout blood typing and personality links
something that i'd come across a while back
on my flicking thru the net in search for personality tests

They revel in work and there's hardly anything they can't do with their open eyes and alert brains.

Del bored? yep *nods*
sorta i guess
more of i found one result
so mite as well look at what other sites say
tho then again..
some of them turned out exactly the same anyways..
Maybe they sourced from the same book? eg. Answer 1 and 4
tho i cant remember the site addy for 1 coz i got that one a while back
but they were diff websites
tho i sourced em for people of different blood types..
but O's most common anyways..
(The pair of recessive alleles!
and well co-dominance is like less likely anyways)
if they were true than that would really limit the personalites
that are around the world
and it would mean its genetic huh?
im just curious at what people would actually type me
if it was to be believed

ah well

I'm the best!

Ok, reading just the title, and seeing a slight bit of punctuation, I bet you can already figure whose blogging this time. ITS ME!!

Woot. I'm doing engineering this year. How un-nerdy. And I mean it :D I love math to the core, so YES!

Adella sounds like a mixture of peoples in her past few posts.
  • Mona. The hyperactiveness.
  • Scarlet. Blogging about nothing much, and not achieving anything in the process either. (sorry honey - Adella; but thats the truth y'all)
I just got home an hour ago or so. My legs hurt. Stood for 12 hours straight. Sigh........what I do for money. lol. But work is fun. Think about it, I get to check out the hot boyfriends of these hell ano and beautifully bombastic chicks. What could get better than that? Eyecandy of both genders! Woot. ( if by now you haven't noticed...there was a slight amount of sarcasm in there...)

Anyhow, since Adello did draw attention to the consistency of my LENGTHY posts, I must standardise all my posts. Therefore, I shall end it HERE.

Pho Addict

damnit..
now that i did write something before..
i wanna continue writing..

UGH.. the resto's been closed so long
and i miss the dear food
but its opening again soon yay!!
cant wait..
could be coz my usual dosage of it is like
min of 4-5 times a week
that's practically = EVERY DINNER
see? point taken..
and during exams..
was like one for every lunch too
and take that times last bout like 5 years
i miss the food!!

hmm hard to really type anything
when you're chatting huh?
its sorta like back to the days when a convo
means that my blog post ends up as like what?
some 3-5 liner?
tho then again i realised most of scar's posts on my blog
are all bout the same length.. talk bout consistency :P

eh..
well its hols.. nothing much on my mind
so cya
nite nite
*hugs*
-Del

Babble.. Babble and more Babble

Mmm.
well guess these days with longer gaps between posts
its coz im writing too much detail
on TOO much that has actually happened
and well with the want of doing year recaps as well
the half of last month has well been dropped as a draft
as well as a double year recap that's been taking me ages

SO..
in the last few days..
nothing's happened much.
other than sleep in.. work.. home. net n SLEEP

work:
in one day i cant believe i managed to go from hyper high
down to bottomless pit low of sleepiness in HALF AN HOUR

=====================================================
mhm that was about 10 days ago..
and i guess i cant help but continue the trend
that scar once mentioned but WAY late.
which was post after her
but hey my blog... sorta assumed i guess

you'd think after all this time i'd have something to say?
no not really

yep i got my uni offer yesterday
and got my first pref.. yay..

i guess whenever you stop doing something
or just lower the frequency..
it just drops outta routine
not like i have one atm anyways..
but still
actually
just started one.
which is means that i dont have to work full day now
only the arvo shift now since parents have
made lina take the morning shift
so that's a good thing so that i get a bitta a sleep in

i lie.. i lie and i part lie
and i tell truths..
hmm.. versions of truths??

what's on my mind?
well post wise there as been a topic that's been
going round and round and round my head
i started a post for it.
but it just went into the dust bin
maybe some other time
i just sorta dunno how to express it atm
or more of if i started rambling
it'd take ages till i actually decided its done

could also be the reason
why ive avoided blogging these days?
it just seems so much easier to not write
or leave it hanging?
esp since its since i hvae to go out to work later anyways

think i'll just leave this one here.
right where it is..
cya

Hello, hi, how do you do

There's three happy draft posts sitting in Adella's dashboard, which she has failed to finish any again. Hurahh. heh. Yeh right.

Anyhow, I'm not impressed with the whole "you can now sign into blogger using your gmail account". I avoided moving to the new blogger for as long as I could, but when I wanted to blog in Adella's blog, I had to move. Oh and might I say, yay for tags! (not...)

First round offers in one week exactly! Ohhhh I'm so impatient!

I need a haircut.

Material - a - plenty

hmm so much for the start of my post a few before..
where i said:

i am both outta stuff to say
as well as experiences to experience
as i spend most of my time in the similar enviroment
and yet the running out of material is also
something which was also repeated from sometime before..

the last few weeks have been so busy and enjoyable
i either spend my time thinking about what i could possibly write..
(oh yes im sad..)
or just be out having heaps of fun...
and not realising how fast time is passing
since some days i dont even think at all

30 Nov: Self obsession: CONFIRMED
1 Dec: Gar's Beach B'day Celeb thingy..
1-6 Dec: Albie Over in Perth
3 Dec: Daylight Savings Officially In
7-10 Dec: Hale Sony
12 Dec: Collegian and Leavers Book Collection
13 Dec: Wisdom Teeth Removal
14 Dec: Uncle and Grandpa Arrived
17-19 Dec: James n Ann over
20 Dec: Dinner at James n Ann's
21 Dec: Back to Work

Note: due to the late-ness of the typings of these recounts
there are possible mistakes as well as different view points
to the time when events actually occured

= 30 Nov: Self obsession: CONFIRMED =
yes i have a blog about my life
yes i talk endlessly bout myself
yes i have had a blog post ON my own possible self obsession..
yes i am a cam whore (nat confirmed this)
yes im a possible poser
and all the signs point to ----> YES

oh and guess what i managed to do that same day??
i did as my previous post yonks ago talked bout..
i walked along the street..
and BANG..
i did that cartoon thing..
where some dude stares at this girl whilst walking
and walks into a pole..
cept in my case..
i was staring at my own reflection
*sigh*

oh and managed to actually think up points on..

"how to spot del"
bored? yes i am at work.. :D

= 1 to 6 Dec: Albie Over in Perth =
just like K said..
after the long awaited time albie arrived!
well in perth insteada brissy

- 1 Dec -
the first day... albie arrived at 9pm so nothing to really talk bout

- 2 Dec -
Picked albie up bright n early..
and well late on our account..
went to chinese and well for albie
had a minor issue with food
with meat n temple and all
tho non intentional..
just didnt want 2 plates of sandwiches and cheese platter
to go to waste
tho as nicely intended as an aunty wanted to be bout the issue
i really didnt wanna hear
since it was a mistake of which originally
i wondering if cheese could be eaten there
and didnt realise there was meat there
or the fact that the sandwiches had meat

sadly on that day kura had work
so she couldn come
and a whole bunch of others couldnt either
so me jess lina and albie
went for drinks mainly..
missing out on the happpy hour kareoke
and all i can say is "let it snow!!"
mahjong and snows all the way

stretching a few hours
we went for dinner then
the sushi train buffet
of which afterwards
still being really light
we decided to try out our hand
at the possiblity of getting a room for ktv again
and luckily we did get a room
tho ive got a sneaking suspicion that they charged us
a lil to much time

singing for bout 2 hours n half
i think jess n i once again hogged all the songs
but ah well
ray joined us later in the nite
so really he paid an extra bit for when he wasnt there
ah well
n well
home time really was jess first
then ray n albie me n lina on the train

ray if my memory serves me right
wanted to spar against albie at the train station
-.- no comment AT ALL
tho i think that in itself expresses my opinion
and some random approached us
of which that same random got on the same train as us (minus ray)
and picked a fight with some other dude..
and albie stepped in..
something new of an experience in the end..
sometimes i just feel like a cotton ball child
but then again im not exactly

- 3 Dec: Daylight Savings -
this day totally screwed me up
i got so confused with the times
and since kura was coming to my house some time in the morning
well that woulda meant i sorta had to be up n ready
BEFORE she came..
cept i confused from her last explaination
whether it was 8 and 9 normal time
or 9 and 8 normal time

anyways..
then as albie went off to freo markets with lisa
me kura and lina spent our times roaming the streets
window shopping mainly
and well eating and drinking as well
i seriously think that of all the times i go out
the most money i spend is most likely to be all on food n drinks
coz i swear on this day i managed like 5 snow drinks
and with bout $5 bux each on average
i had spent bout $25 on snow
*sigh*

so in the morning kura got dropped off at my place
and uncle kindly offered us a lift down to claremont
i think its more he'd prefer drop his daughter off
then let del the irresponsible take his daughter on a bus
and then suddenly get lost in the middle of claremont

went for a breaky granita..
tho im not sure if it should be counted as breaky
what with the ice and my with my sick-ish-ness
hmm i just have a tendency for ice related things when im sick

so me lina and kura went off to the city after
in search of xmas prezzies..
or just window shopping in general
and a few errands for me
wandering our way round and round and round the city
till albie jess and ray came

went off to zone 3
where in the end
kura and lina didnt play
and ray got haunted by his "schoolmates"
kura got picked up during hte middle of the game
and then off the three of us went for drinks
which i think in the end we went back to the utopia in the city
where we bumped in to vina

got our dear snows
and went off for some dinner..
and met up with vina again
to which we had to leave her all over again
coz she had to meet up with her mum
so we offed and went for some pool
and jemmy joined in.

played for a bit..
and time for sorta a late dinner

- 4 Dec -
albie started work this day..
and well i think i had supposed work whilst lina had school
but in the end we organised to off to cott beach
well really last min thing
so...
picked up lina from school and brought her beach stuff..
since she didnt pack the nite before..
to find she didnt like th stuff i grabbed
so we had to detour back to the house and be late..
only to find in the end..
that it turned out ok
as albie had the dear task of picking up jess n kura
so that they could come too.
thanx so much albie!
you know..
you've already got the qualifications of a pro chauffeur :P

had quite a fun time at the beach in the evenin..
cept for the fact that we realised that with
such a strong wind.. the sand sorta became a minor sand storm?
oh the pain :(
tho i soon found quite a lotta joy in a game called
"bury raymond alive" :P
and well..
everyone joined in and we made a giant transexual mermaid..
oh the joys of sand sculpturing :P

meaning to get everyone home by 7 or 8..
we ended up leaving the beach round 8 or 9
and being peckish..
piled up into albie's car and off we were shipped to nb
for dinner and icecream

dinner was pretty much dinner
went for korean bbq
of which sadly they ran outta the seaweed :'(
but in the end.
after a few hassles over the actual cooking of the dinner..
food was good
no one got sick
and we had ICECREAM!!!

- 5 Dec -
a day i can remember even less..
tho albie had work..
and me n lina had speech nite

and it was back into the uniform
that i thought i wouldnt EVER wear again..
for the LAST time:
*i wear the school uniform officially as a student
*i sung Per Adua Ad Alta
*had to pray as a group
*had to put up with "refreshments" = crappy cookies
*see everyone else in the uniform
*blend into the sea of green

but i got to proceed thru with the procession
which was a plus
and CONGRATS!! to dear chewy with all her prizes
we all knew that she could do it :D

and well it was the first ever speech nite
that i sat in the audience to watch
after all..
i didnt go in yr 8 and the rest of the yrs
i was in the mass choir

afterwards was the refreshments obviously
and well. it was sorta pix galore to some degree

- 6 Dec -
Albie had finished his work early today
so out he went for movies
meanwhilst i had hale sony training
mainly a pre camp briefing..

since mum had work
she decided to drop me off early
bout half an hour before it started
arriving there early i didnt really have anything to do
well until i came across sarah f.
turns out she was gonna stay the whole camp
she saw me.. n started a whole convo
talked pretty well..
SHE KNEW MY NAME
n well off i sat down to wait for ppl to come
there was ants, liss, beth, nat n yun

starting off with ice breakers
we had those interesting lil get to know you games
n well i got to know a few ppl
and managed to find a primary school friend
in amongst the meeting of everyone
so yeah..
got to see max again
guess im pretty lucky to see so many primary
and secondary school class mates again in the last few weeks

after recess
decided to ask the head person if i could have one night off
and she said yes in the end
coz it was for a wedding that i found out about
the week before
all was going good
i was allowed to go
and well..
somewhere along the lines during lunch time
it managed to travel to sarah fletcher's dear ears
and well..

suddenly she was sorta like
"you could i have a talk with you"
and went and checked my name tag n all..
hmm i wonder.. was it just for appearances sake?
that she didnt know me?
or had temporary amnesia from the morning?

*sigh*
yep i was on the road to guilt trip..
what with the whole
"aren't weddings planned earlier?"
true that.. but i only found out the week before
and i was busy then with work
coz a staff member had suddenly left
"you shoulda informed us so we could replace you"
it was ONE night..
which happened to be "disco night"
they dont need an assistant for that
they have plenty already
and as an afternote i didnt do much
but just stuff round that nite either
and if you were worried bout getting in and out?
duty of care?
my mum was picking me up at 8 and dropping me off in a few hours
the kids are in bed round 8 anyways
and us being around just apparently supplies
excessive stimulus anyways..
did i feel outta the way?
yes i did in the end quite a few times
in a huffle and a puffle
the rest of the training day
was more briefing
and we had to do a CPR course
played a bitta pool...
damn the hale boarding house is pretty nice
what with 3 pool tables??

got home
n albie picked me up
and off we went to supposedly ice skating
but...
ice skating closed
so back we went to cindy's appartment
made spaghetti..
played pictionary..
dear albie bought himself a set in perth
so we played
raymond kept shouting at me :(
damnit..
and its not like he could draw
oh and his highpitched voice ringin around
screaming incomprehensible things
when he was trying to draw didnt help the nerves
so albie lina and jess won a round
then next game was a really close one
where jess lina and raymond were leading
only to be beaten by me n albie
yay!!

nn time passed
we had a lil down time
jus sit n chat

then it was time for albie to go
right after a pillow fight :P
but i accidentally left
the majong decorated back massaging stick thingy
at cindy's place :(
sorry K it was for you..
tho dunno why..
but that's the point
i sadly left it there

ok i think i'll leave the rest till later
or nothing'll ever be published
*hugs*
nite nite

The History of Del

Yes.
i found another thing off friendster bulletins.
but cmon..
there's not gonna be any posts from me for a while..
since im still preoccupied actually typing up a
"last few weeks" recap..
which has already taken me days since i've had so little time
and there's so much to write about..
so here's an aside
and without further ado.
i present:

Do you get depressed about things easily?
depends on what the thing is...

Are you happy?

mmm either love or acceptance
tho they sorta go hand in hand

unless you've first felt the hurt of hate n rejection

Do you believe in love at first sight?
could always happen.
after all.. pigs fly :P

A Standard Reduction...

Early this morning..
and really this blog post inspired by my sister..
i got a page of some mag ripped out and stuck on my computer screen
which was the following:

18 Things to Do Before You're 18
1 - Kiss the guy you've been in love with for years
2 - Donate to charity. Even if it's just your old clothes or the five bucks you scraped together from your bag, the thought really does count.
3 - Surprise someone you've had a huge fight with by showering them with hugs and kisses the next time you see them.
4 - Organise an unreal holiday with your mates. Strapped for cash? The local caravan park could be a goer, or pitch a tent by the beach.
5 - Get your closest friends to write something in an autograph book that you can giggle about (or cry over) later.
6 - See your all-time favourite band rock-out at a music festival.
7 - Get out of your comfort zone and do something mad like rock climbing, abseiling and wakeboarding.
8 - Shock people. If you're a jeans and sneakers type of girl, wear a mini with heels next Saturday night.
9 - Cook something. And we don't mean vegemite on toast! Choose a recipe, buy the ingredients and make a proper meal.
10 - Let go of a past hurt. It could be a bad break-up or a betrayal by your best friend. Worrying about it for the rest of your life is only going to be destructive.
11 - Make an important decision without checking in with everyone single one of your friends first.
12 - Have a friendship with a guy who is not your boyfriend.
13 - Pass your learner's test so you'll be the first to get a driver's licence.
14 - Humiliate yourself in public. All of these count: falling off a stange, throwing up, showing off your knickers, and telling your life story to someone while having a good cry.
15 - Try a really bad pick up line on a guy. We like: "There must be something wrong with my eyes. I can't take them off you."
16 - Read the classics. War and Peace, Pride and Prejudice and The Catcher in the Rye are our picks.
17 - Walk to the corner whop in your pyjamas. You'll get some crazy looks.
18 - Tell your mum and dad how much you love and appreciate them.

==================================================
Although this was from ages ago..
i guess i mite as well finish it off..
finish the posts i start..
coz well drafts dont add up when it comes to the post count
its just dodge otherwise..
so just being truthful to my own dear bloggie

The title?
i cant remember at all why i put it as that
so oh well
for those 18s to be and well those who are already 18+
somethign to read n contemplate..
whether you've done it already
or just need something to do?
seems like a pretty good idea for the hols
between now and well..
the next step in life

It's MEEEE

Hey everyone, this is Scarlet, I'm at the Hong Kong airport, and I'm going to Japan today. I want to blog in my own blog, but I'm not allowed to sign in to wordpress, so yah....I get to invade Adella's lovely blog.

Wakakaka. Anyhow, I'm coming back from Japan on 8 Dec, and going Beijing on 9 Dec.....yahh, and I don't really have internet access. Well, I do in a way, but I have to go to somewhere with free access, because I'm too stingy to use the internet at the hotel =P haha

anyhow, I'm coming back to Perth on 20 Dec, so yep!!

I need to go now....tata

Blog this...oh and... ah...brb

With the 400th post looming ahead..
i am both outta stuff to say
as well as experiences to experience
as i spend most of my time in the similar enviroment
and yet the running out of material is also
something which was also repeated from sometime before..

tho blogging for so long..
or having the opportunity to..
its meant that ive developed a mini-addiction
to typing things onto my blog.
i swear.. i go anywhere..
something happens im like "oh i could rite bout this"
time goes and then i forget..
and i try so hard..
to think of something to write about..
but nothing comes..
*sigh*

so what's happening these days in my world?
nothing really..
working in the mornings..
but the fact that the prices of fruit change daily
drives me completely insane..
why!?!
coz they're damn perisable and are convenience goods
yep.. good ol' geog

you know?
a pet peeve of mine?
"brb" when you dont intend to come back..
its like "i dont wanna talk to you"
but at the same time
"you're not even worth spending time on to make up an excuse"
or just not even worth ignoring..
just say it and never come back
minimal contact.. conversation..
you mite as well block the person in the first place..
esp when there's rarely any convo between the both of you

i mean its ok if you go "brb"..
and take ages to get back..
but still at least say that you came back..
and just say "oh soz too late.. g2g sleep"
or something of the like
it at least softens something down to the assumption
taht you wanted to have the conversation?

and "ttyl"?
why bother if you dont care in the first place?
a kind "take care" would to just as well
it allow for the idea that you dont wanna talk?
hmm oo i know..
what of those ppl..
who you talk to once every like 2 yrs?
its not like they care enough to talk to you
and the convesrations you have are so strained
the point being they wanted to ask you a question
but didnt really want to have a conversation

hm you know?
maybe i should just clear up my msn contact list..
after all i usually just end up talking to bout
max of 10 diff ppl over a months time
sad huh? but at least i can talk to em..
well at least you can believe
or be mislead into the idea that your opinion counts at all..
do i sound bitter to you?
i prob do..
i dunno not exactly in that a fine mood

ah well..
for those of you who bother to read..
its late..
nite nite

Potty Mouth...

These days..
i think im losing it..
seriously..
i nearly cried yesterday..
just coz some customer didnt want a plastic bag..
seriously.. *sigh*

ok to today's topic..
TOILETS!!
trutfully..
i dunno why im talkin bout it..
but ive gotten really irratated at the states of toilets
and their usage..
I mean seriously?
do they need to get ppl to teach ppl how to use the toilet
in like yr 1 or something? coz i DONT understand WHY
ppl refuse to replace toilet rolls
DESPITE the fact that they're there
I'm serious.. in this single day i've replaced
THREE toilet rolls..
coz instead of just opening one and replacing it..
they open a new one..
then decide to place the new one ABOVE the toilet roll holder
with the OLD one still in place..
how hard is it to take the old one and put it in the bin..
which by the way is RIGHT IN FRONT of the TOILET
AGH!!!

oh and dont get me into the FLUSHING part..
how freaking HARD is it to FLUSH a toilet..
and just maybe LOOK to check that the toilet is CLEAN after?
i SWEAR..
walking into a dirty toilet can be worst experience ever..
i mean in singapore there were the auto flush toilets..
which literally DROVE ME INSANE..
i spent half my time..
either waiting for it to flush
or trying to push the button for it to flush..
which usually resulted in a total NULL
so after bout 3 mins it'd go off..
but on the upside it ensured close to cleanish toilet :)

oh and for the unisex toilets..
you just wonder..
"oh what are those DROPS OF LIQUID" that happen to be on the ground?
*shrudder*

anyways..
g2g parents hacking at me to go to bed..
well for the last hour
nit enite

Pearls of Wisdom...

Jerry's bday yesterday..
and since he had work last nite
some of the younger staff decided to have a mini celebration
for him tonite..
and well as im am online at 9-ish 10 pm
typing this away
this is a sign that i didnt get to go :(

tho on the (i-dont-really-know-if-it-is) upside
i realised how much my dad and i are alike..
sad huh...?
damnit...
they say that "the apple never rots far from the tree"
*sigh* why does it sometimes have to be true?
coz seriously kids always end up either ways..
picking up things like their parents
or being the opposite of them..
and i guess today in asking to go out
i realised the similarity
on a particular case
whereby the dealings turned out pretty similar
to other possible incidents
that ive reacted to
ah well
*shrugs*

Ridicule the Negatives Out of Your Life
It would be ridiculous to worry about what might happen in the future - because anything might happen!!
It would be ridiculous to devote even one second to worrying about the past - because the past is gone for ever and cannot be changed
It would be ridiculous to critisize anybody, because criticism causes resentment. THere are much better ways of psychological methods of teaching.
It is ridiculous to indulge in bad habits, because, if I cannot stop one habit, I will advertise my weakness to wother bad habits seeking weak prey.
It would be ridiculous to think that the colour of a person's skin limits that person's intellect, ability or personal capability to succeed.
It would be ridiculous to let an unhappy childhood experience affect my entire life.
It would be ridiculous to carry the burdens of tommorrow's tasks, added to the burdens of today. I shall leave tommorow's tasks for tommorow. Sufficient unto each day are the burdens thereof.
It would be ridiculous to waste time even a minute thinking about someone I don't like. If I am not tolerant enough to forgive a person, at least i shall be sensible enough to ignore and forget him.
It is ridiculous to use the words: 'I demand' or 'we demand' because a demand creates resisitance. It is much better to maintain a friendly attitude of conciliation and negotiation, where everybody's point of view is respectfully considered.

quote above from "Pearls of Wisdom"
a book i bought in singapore.
i like that title.. ^^
tho i found it at the start of the book
reading it i think bout some of the stuff
and really some seems so easy to do
and yet others are the usual easy to say hard to do..
and well others just changes of everyday habit
or just generally being more aware of what you choose to do...

on the note of the last one.
i guess it sorta reminds of the starbucks incident
that occured recently on my trip to singapore
the dear OH SO CONSIDERATE *cough* store owner i assume
if not.. then manager or store keeper
got grumpy at us for asking for some water
ok well meaning ice water most places would be annoyed
but of the approx. 10 fo us
round half had bought SOMETHING
and only 2 were asking for water
if he really wanted to be stingy he coulda charged us for the water
nothing wrong with charging ppl for water

prior to our entry the indoors area was empty
as we were sitting there we decided to play cards
and well playing cards can get noisy
and he went and snapped at us for scaryin away his OTHER customers
we WERE his only customers -.-
well that were sittin indoors.
reminder inside was empty before we came
damnit
i mean if he wanted us to quieten down..
understandable
coulda just asked us..
instead of snapping at us loudly..
what if i'd cried..!??!!?
well i doubt he'd care but cmon..
no need to yell
and even if he was grumpy due to lack of customers
before hand which could justify his grumpyness more
we WERE his god damn customers
*sigh*

both ways.. each parties had their own wrongs
tho i think and went to illuminate HIS mistakes..
cant say much leaning towards my version of the story :D
what person aint slightly biased?

ah well..
writers block
so mite as well end here
*hugs*

Last few days...

yet again... i hear the word "last"
*sigh*
damnit.. finished with school with the lasts
and exams and came to an end
and off i got shipped over to singapore..
well as you know due to scar's dear post the one before..
when she was hogging nat's laptop..

what ive done the last week?
i personally cannot remember..
its been so much fun its been a total blur
and by the end of the day due to endless walking
collapsing onto the floor late at nite
due to the fact that it takes ages to get home
on the public transport and to have everyone
take a shower with an apartment of 5 girls

and yes its collapse on the floor
as me n scar are on the floor
chewy on the couch
n nat n gar on he mattress of the living room
but its cozy and everyone's close together

17/11 Fri -
Up onto flight in the morning
flew for bout 4 or 5 hours
arrive in apartment in pasir ris
settling in

18/11 Sat -

23/11 Thur -
went to Sentosa, an old fishing island
that was converted to an island resort
sorta like the mini theme park apparently where
the original Merlion is situated
For $33.50 package we paid for:

*admission fee
*bus to Sentosa
*2 Luge Rides
*1 Sky Tower Ride
*1 4D movie session

n yep that was it
it seemed SO expensive
then deciding to go on our spare night safari..
we travelled back to Harbour Front
to catch the maxi taxi to the zoo
but on arrival whilst waiting for the taxi..
we ended up in the rain
of which we decided giving up on the night safari
and went shopping in parkway parade
didnt do much tho i tried out the durian icecream..
which i swear after dinner, dessert, chocolate
AND brushing my teeth.. i swear i still smell durian
talking which of icecream.. i ended up eating
5 scoops worth that day in total.. *sigh*
so much more fat.
i swear since i got here
i've been developing a stomach bulge from all this food
i eat coz its apparently so cheap

hmm what else is there to recap??

atm i really cant remember
of which currently half of the above week
isnt even filled in -.-

==========================================

24/11 Fri -
gar slept in and was disappointed that she missed out
on the early morning swim for various reasons..
tho i guess im gonna miss having a pool at so close range
to a place of accomodation
i mean seriously to go swim from here i gotta
go to beatty park or beach both of which require
some form of vehicle transport
yep.. biondi nat n i went for a swim
and scar stood on the pool side
and enjoyed pushing me into the pool repeatedly -.-

we had lunch, arcade and window shopping down at century square
did a bit more shopping then returned to the apartment
cleaned up and got ready to leave
many thanx to tab, biondi, elson and kenneth
well for everything they did..
and on the very top of that..
NAT for putting up with the lot of us..
whether it be everyone paying her out for getting lost
to helping us with whatever we may have needed
and supplying the accomodation
well despite the fact that they'll prob wont read this
but its for my conscience i guess
and the possibility they come across this place :D

reading up
the last 7 days have been a total blur
im not even sure if teh summary is accurate
it was just so much fun ^^
well time to get to bed
nite nite

- Restrictions define self -
with the end of school past
(and the fact that im continuing this post
during my "leavers" coz i dont feel like sleeping)
i realised how much we are restricted
is also part of what or who we are
that it sort of models who we end up being
whether choosing to adhere to the restrictions
or to be a plain rebel

I remember back in the end of yr 7
going on into yr 8 being a highly freaked out
uncertain high-school student to be
spending my day before the first day of school
sitting in the living room of my house
silently trying to read and memorise the school rules
that were included in the front section of the diary.
sitting there
soaking it all in
and then for the next number of god knows how many months
complaining about the absurdity of some of the school rules
or the school uniform in general as obviously
it was in the worse possible colour:

GREEN

we looked like green sailors in summer
and a forest of trees if we all stood still in winter
and yet now
after all that time
just looking around
you see that the last few yrs and months
students openly incorporating parts of the school uniform
into daily wear or just for casual and camp like activities

thinkin about it.. i even brought my school shorts
to my leavers.. of which the majority of us
have also bought our leavers jumpers..
i guess its ok.. but for singapore?!?!
ah well can wear on plane :D
and well i left mine at home..
guess im not as attached to it..
well either that or i forgot on fri morning

but restrictions..
the morals we believe in form restrictions on what
we choose to do and really following them
incorporates it into your life
of which we're living in shaping and moulding who we are

mm and as education has been a major factor in our lives
being students and all
having constantly to repeat and regurgitate info
at the snap of our finger in a given amount of time
there's been an endless flow of subject referrences
between all our talk whether it be eng to h bio
to mathematical distributions on the probability
to win a draw
*sigh* sadly some of us really are nerds
but in the end all for a laugh :P
its finally over

back to the uniform thing..
i really cant imagine life having to choose clothing
every single day for uni (if i get in)
for once not having the whole set clothing to be worn
by all.. the disappearance of the entire total uniformity
just looking around to see differences
but i guess we'll just have to learn to adapt

yes im rambling on bout things that are total common sense
why i do it?
i dunno "clarification"? :P

anyways
its late now
g2g
nite nite

Lit Study...

Well with the rest of this weekend off..
time to get some lit study done since its my next exam..
but how to study?

looking up hand outs that we got in the last week..
i couldnt believe that the hand outs the teacher had given out..
with the marks that i had been getting..
i swear with that sheet woulda helped so much more..
the stuff makes so much more sense now -.-
AFTER a whole yr and the aggregate being decided already
but ah well i guess we were partly meant to work it out
ourselves was her intention?
i guess in the end fault goes both ways?
one worded comments dont really help much
but again the lack of seeking help on my side means that really there was little
room for improvement if i made no effort towards it..

getting the lit mocks marks back im pretty pleased i guess
i close to the highest marks ive been gettin this year..
hopefully over the next few days ill improve as i did then
but hopefully ill have the same luck in question availablities as well

hmm. lina's back.. blaring music thru the wall again -.-

sifting thru my lit things..
here's an article i'd found that i'd wanted to put up earlier
with the whole recent graduation thing
and all the TEE exams i guess it's relavent

The West Australian - Issues - Comment - March 10 2001
Tribal Youth Yearn For School
-Hugh Mackay-
What do you imagine is the main emotion of young people reaching the end of their secondary school careers?
Impatience to get away from the place? A desire to be free, at last and to launch themselves on the wide world?

The answer might surprise you. For many school leavers, there's an unexpected sadness springing from a sense of loss. THere is often a tinge of anxiety - sometimes almost panic - at the prospect of leaving the emotional safety of the school community.

Perhaps you're bemused by the reaction. Why shouln't young people feel a tad nervous about heading off into the adult world?
Why shouldn't there be a sense of loss, as part of the necessary process of becoming an independent adult?

All true. But given the daunting circumstances of many of today's school leavers, secondary schools would be doing society a big favour if they were prepared to ease the process of separation for studnets who retain, at least for a little while, the sense of belonging to a stable, safe community.

We've waited 20 years to see how the rising generation of young Australians would cope with a record high rate of divorce among their parents, a technology revolution that makes it easier than ever to exchange information without being in personal contact.

Now we know: they are compensating for all that by becoming intensely tribla. These are not the rebel tribes of the 50s and 60s.

Today's tribes supply the resources young people need for coping with life in an uncertain and unstable world. Their tribal identity often means more to them than their personal identity.

In that respect, they are reminiscent of Aboriginal and other ancient cultures - indeed, we may be witnessing the early signs of a culture-shift away from individualism.

WHen their families are fragmented and traditional sources of identity are lost or blurred, this generation doesnt retreat into isolation; it connects.

Watch them eating together. Watch them hugging each other. Watch them hunched over their computers, e-mailing and "chatting" with the people they see all day. Watch them wielding their mobile phones - "Where are you know? Who are you with?" - as they plan a weekend of continuous connection.

So when they talk about leaving school, their main concern is about how they will keep in touch with their friends; how they will maintain their tribal rituals without the effortless daily encounters at school - and travelling to and from school. They wonder how they will fare in enverironments where they feel cut off from the herd.
Whatever else it might be, attending school is mainly a process of socialisation.

Yes, the formalities of teaching and learning are critically important as well, but when school leavers describe their most positive experiences of school, they rarely refer to the joys of the classroom.

History, geography, maths and science scarcely figure in their enthusiastic accounts of what school has taught them (and, to judge from my research, those accounts are often very enthusiastic).

Rosy reflections on school life are dominated by the theme of emotional security.

What wast the best thing about school? "Seeing my friends everyday." Do you ever wish you were back at school? "To my amazement, yes; I wishe I was back with the group, doing things we used to do together."

It's not just explicit socialising. School leavers miss the experience of belonging to sporting teams - "I was hopeless at hockey, but I loved being in the team" - or participating in other activities to hwich they no longer have access. Helping with the audio-visual equiptment, singing in a choir, playing a musical instrument, painting, debating... to say nothing of easy access, if they're lucky, to understanding and throughtful adults who will listen to them.

Today's young people face pressures never contemplated by previous generations.

At such a time, secondary school could satisfy a real need by finding creative ways of accomodating recent school leavers who would like to maintain some link to the school - even if only for a few months - while they find their feet elsewhere.

Some former pupils are taking matters into their own hands. This week I heard of a group of 19 year olds who return to their old school every Sunday afternoon to jump the fence and play cricket in the playground.

Many people complain that once they left school, they lost the opportunity to do some of the things they enjoyed most. Today, there's a poignant additional dimension to that complaint.

For many school leavers, a transitional link with the school might supply an important source of continuity in the quest for a place where they feel as if they belong.

written bout 5 yrs ago i cant believe how quick time flies..
it woulda been when i was graduating primary school..
they say that "opportunities are for those prepared to take them"
and well i guess in the end for those opportunities missed
maybe i should have tried or just did it instead of backing away
but for those i had taken its been a sea worth of memories
of the good and bad from the moment
of choosing between which school to attend
(well not exactly completely free to that choice
but i had the chance to refuse)
to the lack of voicing my opinion resulting in either a null
to a completely stupid decision
or not being able to keep my mouth closed
or the incorrect choice of words

and the yr's nearly over too...
:(

time to go since im bout to get snitched on..

News...?

and well lets you think as well
tho funny that..
i get home and i forget everything..

hm think i remember again now..

Australian vote on stem cell cloning sparks controversy by Lawrence Bartlett
Tue Nov 7, 10:16 PM ET

SYDNEY (AFP) - A vote in the Australian senate to permit the use of cloned human embryos for stem cell research has sparked an emotional debate on the ethics of the controversial scientific procedure.

New legislation overturning a ban on therapeutic cloning passed by 34 votes to 32 in a late-night session marked by warnings of a nightmarish future in which scientists create monsters.

The legislation will now go before the lower house of parliament, where it is expected to be approved and become law.

Prime Minister John Howard has allowed a rare conscience vote on the issue, giving senators and members of parliament the freedom to vote outside party lines.

The bill would allow researchers to clone human embryos to extract their stem cells in the hope of one day finding cures for debilitating diseases such as Parkinson's and dementia.

Cloned embryos would have to be destroyed within 14 days and could not be implanted in a woman.

Australian neuroscientist Peter Schofield told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that part of the fierce debate spawned by the senate vote was focused on when life first begins.

"For some, it's the moment the sperm and egg meet or that any other cellular form that has the potential to be an embryo comes first into existence," he said.

"The reason the 14 days has been used is that's the first point in time where there is a commitment of any of the cells in that embryo to actually become a foetus and then a baby."

Existing laws allow stem cells to be harvested only from surplus IVF embryos.

The new bill provoked intense and sometimes emotional argument in the senate, with government senator Julian McGauran warning of the creation of human-animal hybrids.

"Under these sets of beliefs, once it is created, all becomes a horror story," he said.

"It has all the pride equal to a Nuremberg rally -- a rally of Dr Strangeloves chanting for such weird experiments as the creation of hybrid embryos, mixing humans with animals."

A successful, last-minute amendment to the legislation by the Australian Democrats specifically ruled out animal-human hybrids.

Another amendment increased from 10 to 15 years the prison sentence for flouting safeguards designed to prevent abuse of embryonic cloning.

The issue is controversial worldwide, with the latest high-profile intervention in the debate coming from Hollywood star Michael J. Fox ahead of the US mid-term elections.

Fox suffers from Parkinson's disease, one of a number of debilitating illnesses which scientists hope could be cured through stemcell research.

The "Back to the Future" star provoked conservative fire after campaigning on behalf of a Democratic senator against President George W. Bush's veto in July to block expansion of federal funds for embryonic stem cell research.

In Australia, female senators tipped the balance in the vote with 19 out of 23 approving the legislation.

Democrats Senator Natasha Stott Despoja said she was delighted that the bill had passed, calling it one of the best legislative decisions in which she had taken part.

But the senate leader of the rural-based Nationals Party, Ron Boswell, described it as a dark day in Australian politics.

"We entered a race and we created two types of embryos, one born to live and the other created to die," he said.

you know really ive never thought much about stem cell research..
but then again i had little knowledge bout what i was infact about
i guess in this year it really has caught my attention..

Interest rates rise of 1/4%? with Aust in total owing a TRILLION dollars?
and some lady informed by anz that they had actually past away
the day after her birthday and having her credit card cancelled
despite the fact she's still alive?
hm and on that im paying attention to the news again..??
hm well news and today tonight..
despite some critisism that it may just be propoganda
O.o
not that paying attention to what's happening is bad..
but during time when i should be studying..
eck. guess despite other things which may be more distracting..
whether or not i get distracted and procrastinate
is not thru temptation
but really if your own intention is to procrastinate..
there will always be something to distract you from study..

guess i got lazy on the own opinion side..
but on the stem cell..
if there really is a possibility of cures..
there will always be a cost for anything
hopefully the choice made really will be for the best
whether or not 14 days is something that is deemed as a life
who is formed to apparently die.. whether or not the embryo
is alive i dunno..
a tug on ethics but all i ask is who is to deem
what is ethical as who is perfect
or ethical enough to be allowed to judge..
whatever the choice there will be some to oppose
and tell me is it really against that of natural selection
in the preventing the lowering of unfavourable characteristics
but with the ability to help someone..
would you rather leave them to die
to prevent further continuance of that potential sickeness..
such as Alzheimers (linked to genetic factors?)
or just to save that one extra life as
you have the possibility to find the cure to?
at the price of potential lives?

well thats all i can say..
mind this is the opinion of one who is limited in knowledge
so there is a high chance that i got something wrong
and have an opinion on something that is completely incorrect
if so plz tell me what's wrong so my knowledge of things may be corrected :)

i guess
nite nite that was a bit of a ramble for something
that was intended to be a few lines only..
