Footprints on the Earth...

you know what that reminds me of?
that quiz thing..
bout being enviro friendly.
but.
no that's not what i was thinking about.

i was thinking about the impact one has on others
on the people around you
and their effect on you.
in a matter of words
or the lack thereof.
may either person's world as they know it
may disappear
or lay beneath their feet as they're on top of the world

and what more?
the fact that alot of what may be said now
can be through just the words
the message conveyed is only transmitted through technology
these shaped symbols that create represent something
these letters which form words which form texts.

simple as that
sent in some way or the other.
in a moment of emotion the sender clicks send
and the receipient receives

what is sent is rarely revised and reread
yet for the reader.
the same few lines are read over and over again
trying to apprehend the overall intended meaning

was that what they literally meant?
was it just figuratively speaking?
was that just drenched and dripping with sarcastic venom?

believe what you want to believe
but in the writing. all can be read vertabim
over and over and over again.
exactly as they may have
carelessly strung together the sentence.

so just a word.
despite the many precautions given
despite the repetition
despite the fact that we know it is so
we still commit the crime
at least i know i do.
ive never been a wordsmith
never been one to craft my speech
or carefully chosen my vocab

but being the receipent
im reminded again..
time and time again.

it hurts.
